VitaLink has introduced a foldable keyboard that revives the ultrawide computer trend, incorporating a 13-inch 4K display with a 2.4:1 aspect ratio. This design aims to enhance productivity by offering a wider workspace, reminiscent of earlier concepts like Toshiba's Satellite U845W from 2012. When folded, the VitaLink measures 20mm thick and weighs 1200 grams, opening to a deployed workspace of approximately 34 by 15 centimeters.
The keyboard itself features comfortable key spacing and travel, along with three RGB lighting modes. The integrated touchscreen offers a high pixel density, 100% sRGB coverage, and ten-point multitouch capabilities. The device is compatible with multiple operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android, using dual USB-C ports for power, video, and data transfer up to 65W.
Currently available through a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, the VitaLink keyboard has garnered significant support. With a shipping schedule set for September 2026, early supporters can pledge starting at $299. The campaign's success indicates a renewed interest in unconventional display formats for portable computing solutions.
