Viltrox has expanded its camera lens offerings with the introduction of the AF 26mm F2.8 EVO, a new pancake lens designed for Sony E and Nikon Z mounts. This lens aims for extreme compactness, measuring only 23.8mm in thickness and weighing a mere 130g, making it an ideal companion for lightweight camera bodies.
The AF 26mm F2.8 EVO is built with durability in mind, featuring a machined metal construction that is dust- and splash-resistant. Photographers will appreciate the inclusion of dedicated aperture and focus rings, as well as a USB-C port for firmware updates accessible via its metal rear mount. A notable convenience is its magnetic lens cap system, which simplifies attachment and detachment.
Optically, the lens comprises eight elements arranged in six groups, offering a minimum focus distance of 0.2m for reasonable close-up capabilities. This new lens joins Viltrox's range, providing an equivalent focal length of 39mm on APS-C sensor cameras. It is available now for $299 / £279.
