A Ukrainian firm, SMART BIRDS, has introduced the VORON, an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) engineered to intercept first-person view drones. This system employs Pavuk net launchers, designed to physically capture drones at distances up to 45 meters. Each VORON platform can be outfitted with up to eight net launcher modules, offering comprehensive coverage against incoming aerial threats from any direction.
The VORON's utility extends beyond drone interception. The versatile UGV is also designed for logistics support, casualty evacuation, reconnaissance, and minelaying operations. Weighing 120 kg, it can carry payloads of up to 250 kg, with potential to increase to 400 kg for shorter distances. The vehicle has a top speed of 15 km/h and an operational range of 30 km on a single charge.
