Summary
- Aadhaar cardholders can now update personal details online
- Aadhaar-PAN linking mandatory by December 31, 2025
- Revised Aadhaar service fees take effect from November 1

As of November 18, 2025, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has introduced significant changes to simplify Aadhaar-related services and enhance digital convenience for cardholders.
One of the key updates is that Aadhaar cardholders can now directly update their personal details, such as name, address, date of birth, or mobile number, through the UIDAI portal. This eliminates the need to visit enrollment centers, as the information provided will be digitally verified using linked government documents like PAN cards, passports, driving licenses, or ration cards.
Additionally, the government has mandated that Aadhaar-PAN linking must be completed by December 31, 2025. Any PAN cards not linked to Aadhaar will be deactivated on January 1, 2026. New PAN applicants will also need to undergo Aadhaar-based verification as part of the process.
Furthermore, UIDAI has simplified the digital Know Your Customer (KYC) process for banks and financial institutions. Users can now verify their identity through video KYC, Aadhaar OTP-based authentication, or choose in-person verification if needed.
Lastly, the authority has announced a revised service fee structure, effective from November 1. Under the new rates, Aadhaar reprints will cost Rs 40, biometric updates will be charged at Rs 125, and demographic updates will require a payment of Rs 75.
