Twitch Unveils Rewind Feature to Replay Missed Livestream Moments
28 Sep, 2025
Summary
- Twitch launches Rewind feature to revisit earlier parts of livestreams
- Rewind allows fans to rewatch, clip, or highlight missed content
- Feature initially exclusive to Twitch Turbo and channel subscribers

In a significant upgrade to Twitch's live viewing experience, the platform has announced the rollout of its much-awaited Rewind feature. As of September 2025, Twitch users can now go back and replay missed moments during livestreams using the new Rewind button.
The Rewind feature, which has been one of the most requested by Twitch's community, allows viewers to instantly revisit earlier parts of a stream without leaving the broadcast. Previously, fans had to wait for a streamer's VOD (video on demand) to be uploaded to catch up on missed content. With Rewind, they can now rewatch, clip, or highlight moments directly from the live stream.
However, the Rewind feature is currently exclusive to Twitch Turbo subscribers and individual channel subscribers. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy explained that this initial restriction helps prevent users from exploiting the feature to skip ads. The company has confirmed plans to expand Rewind access to all users in the future, including on the Twitch mobile app.
The addition of Rewind marks a significant upgrade to Twitch's live viewing experience. It empowers fans to stay engaged without missing key moments, whether it's a clutch gaming play, a streamer's reaction, or a viral clip. For creators, it also means more opportunities for engagement and content sharing in real-time.
