Tuxedo has introduced the InfinityBook Max 16, a compact Linux workstation powered by the Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, a 24-core processor designed for desktop-class performance. This machine, weighing just over 2kg, can sustain high power levels, with its CPU capable of up to 140 watts at maximum fan speed. The graphics options include NVIDIA RTX 5060 or RTX 5070 GPUs, with user-adjustable power outputs from 45 to 115 watts for the RTX 5060 and 50 to 115 watts for the RTX 5070.
The InfinityBook Max 16 is housed in an 8mm chassis and employs a low-profile cooling system, enabling a combined CPU and GPU power budget of up to 170 watts. While this figure represents peak thermal limits, users can reduce power for quieter operation. Connectivity is robust, featuring Thunderbolt 4, a second USB-C port, HDMI 2.1, and Mini DisplayPort, supporting up to four external monitors. It also includes three USB-A ports and dual memory slots supporting up to 128GB of DDR5 RAM and two NVMe SSD slots.
Storage options are plentiful with one PCIe 5.0 and one PCIe 4.0 slot, allowing for up to 8TB of total capacity. Users can choose between a 2560 x 1600 LED panel with a 300Hz refresh rate or a 2880 x 1800 OLED panel. The device is powered by a 99Wh battery and ships with Linux support, offering Tuxedo OS or Ubuntu 24.04, with an option for Windows 11. Pricing starts at 1,899 euros in Germany.
