Toyota is expanding its North American electric vehicle lineup with the C-HR EV, a compact SUV prioritizing bold styling and dynamic performance over practicality. This model is equipped with a twin-motor all-wheel-drive system generating 338 horsepower and drawing power from a 74.7 kWh battery pack.
While offering a responsive driving experience with eager throttle response, the C-HR EV's interior may feel somewhat confined. Rear-seat occupants will notice the shorter wheelbase, and cargo volume is reduced when the rear seats are in use. The car's infotainment system and interior design are similar to the bZ4x.
Despite its official EPA range of up to 273 miles, real-world testing in hot conditions suggested a significantly lower mileage. The C-HR EV also features a 150 kW NACS port, enabling access to Tesla Superchargers. Charging from 10-80 percent takes about 30 minutes with a DC fast charger.
