TikTok Launches Campus Hub for Verified Students
30 Apr
Summary
- New hub offers exclusive group chats for verified students.
- Personalized feeds show campus content and student posts.
- Feature expands on existing campus verification technology.

TikTok is rolling out a new "Campus Hub" feature, aimed at strengthening connections within university communities. This initiative allows verified students to engage in exclusive group chats, with capacity for up to 300 classmates per chat. These private conversations are intended to help students maintain contact throughout the year, including over summer breaks.
The Campus Hub also introduces personalized feeds tailored to each university. These feeds will surface content created by verified students and other material relevant to their specific campus. This aims to keep students informed about campus life and trends, regardless of their physical location.
This new feature expands upon TikTok's existing campus verification system. Introduced last August, this system enables students to add their university to their profile and discover other students from their school. The verification process is facilitated through a partnership with UNiDAYS, a student verification platform, and is available at over 6,000 universities.
The introduction of Campus Hub brings to mind early social media platforms that focused exclusively on college campuses. TikTok's move also occurs as other social media companies, like Instagram, have introduced similar features to facilitate student-to-student connections.
