Electric vehicle brands Tesla and Rivian have released distinct Halloween-themed software updates for 2026. Tesla's "Halloween Mode" transforms their EVs into a "haunted house on wheels," featuring a ghost car avatar on the infotainment screen and a light show. The update also includes a "Trick-or-Treat" function and a "Remote App Scaring" feature that distorts spoken words through the car's speakers.
Rivian, a notable competitor, has introduced an officially licensed "Ghostbusters" theme. This update allows owners to convert their vehicle's interior to resemble the Ecto-1. The theme includes the movie's song, a ghoulish green display for surrounding vehicles, and interactive light and sound shows. A mini-game called Mallow Mash is also part of Rivian's festive offering.
