Summary

- Feature activates after doors close and no passengers are present.
- Requires ultra-wideband support on compatible iPhones and Androids.

Tesla is set to enhance driver convenience with its 2025 Holiday Release software update, introducing a 'Phone Left Behind Chime.' This new alert system is designed to audibly notify drivers if their phone, used as a car key, is detected inside the vehicle after the doors have closed. The chime will only sound if there are no other occupants, preventing unnecessary alerts.
This innovative feature requires the driver's phone to have ultra-wideband (UWB) support. While most modern iPhones from the iPhone 11 onward are compatible, certain Android models, like the Pixel 10 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, also support this technology. Users can manage this feature through the vehicle's controls, with the option to disable it if preferred.
The holiday update also brings other enhancements, including an improved Dog Mode with remote monitoring capabilities, new navigation features powered by Grok's AI, a photo mode for in-car snapshots, and a game simulating docking at the International Space Station.
