Tesla Malaysia is preparing to launch the Model Y L Premium, an extended wheelbase version of its popular electric SUV.
This new variant boasts increased dimensions, measuring 4,976mm long with a 3,040mm wheelbase, and stands slightly taller at 1,668mm. These changes translate to a significant boost in luggage capacity, now at 2,539L, and an additional 2mm of ground clearance. The car is powered by a dual-motor AWD system using NCA battery technology, achieving a century sprint in 5 seconds and a WLTP range of 681km, with a top speed of 201 km/h.
Inside, the Model Y L Premium features enhancements like adjustable headrests for the first two rows and power-adjusted under-thigh support for front seats. The middle row gains power-extended armrests with USB-C ports. While the third row offers electric recline and folding for expanded cargo space, access and headroom are noted as potential constraints.
Further interior refinements include upgraded 50W and 30W wireless charging pads and AC vents on the B and C pillars for improved climate control. The car's extensive glass roof offers minimal sun protection, with the rear glass being untinted. Tesla Malaysia is not yet offering test drives, with availability expected weeks after the official launch in two days, on April 1st, when pricing and options will be revealed.
