- TCL QM8L color volume nearly matches premium X11L model.
- QM8L offers advanced color purity at a lower price point.

TCL is launching its Super Quantum Dot (SQD) technology in 2026, introducing a new standard for vibrant color in its QM8L and QM7L Mini-LED televisions. These models will coexist with TCL's upcoming RGB LED TVs, offering consumers a distinct choice in display technology.
The QM8L, TCL's flagship SQD Mini-LED TV, has demonstrated exceptional color performance. In lab tests, its color volume surpassed its predecessor, the QM8K, and closely rivals the highly acclaimed Samsung S95F QD-OLED TV.
This advancement is attributed to TCL's Deep Color System, which includes reformulated quantum dots, a new color filter, and an Advanced Color Purity Algorithm. The QM8L, priced from $2,499 for a 65-inch model, offers a presentation similar to the much more expensive TCL X11L.
The step-down QM7L model, available from $1,199 for a 55-inch version, is expected to appeal to budget-conscious enthusiasts. TCL's SQD Mini-LED TVs, including the X11L, QM8L, and QM7L, represent a significant push to enhance LED display capabilities.
