The Tata Sierra EV recently showcased its impressive off-road prowess by successfully ascending the Tal Moreeb sand dune in Abu Dhabi. This promotional video revealed several production-spec features, including Terrain Modes and a Boost Mode, similar to those found in the Harrier EV. The climb utilized Sand Mode and Quad Wheel Drive to maintain traction on the loose surface.
The dual-motor AWD setup, previously confirmed by Tata Motors, was publicly demonstrated for the first time on this demanding terrain. The instrument cluster indicated the selection of Sand Mode and the activation of Boost Mode, which delivers maximum power for short bursts. This capability, combined with the AWD system, positions the Sierra EV as a highly capable electric SUV.
Furthermore, the video provided a glimpse of the vehicle's potential range. With 424 km indicated at 80 percent battery charge, the full range is estimated to exceed 500 km, possibly reaching around 530 km. While Tata Motors has not officially confirmed this range, the data suggests significant long-range capability for the upcoming SUV, which is slated for launch on June 30th.
