A new device from SunLED Life Science, based in Amsterdam, aims to bring the wellness benefits of sunlight indoors. Dubbed the SunBooster, this gadget resembles a webcam and attaches to monitors or laptops, connecting via USB-C. As users work, it projects near-infrared light toward the face and neck, intended to stimulate cellular energy production and improve mood.
The SunBooster is designed for individuals who have limited time for outdoor sun exposure during busy workdays or live in regions with scarce natural light, especially during certain seasons. While its effectiveness could not be fully verified at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, its potential to mitigate the mood impact of insufficient sunlight is intriguing.
Already available in the Netherlands, the SunBooster is set to launch in the Nordics in March. It will become available in the United States in April with a price tag of $249, followed by releases in the UK, France, and Germany in the subsequent months.
