Steam Gifting & Wishlists Get Major Upgrade

Valve has rolled out significant updates to Steam's gifting and wishlist functionalities, enhancing the overall user experience for PC gamers. Previously, gifting options were more restricted, but users can now send game gifts directly via email.

Furthermore, Steam wishlists have been improved with the addition of categories, allowing for better organization of desired titles. A new 'Demo Available' highlight has also been introduced, notifying users when a demo for a wishlisted game is ready. These features are expected to be beneficial for managing game purchases and discoveries.

The updates also introduce cross-region gifting capabilities, enabling users to gift games to friends in different regions. Steam will adjust the cost to the friend's local region during checkout, provided the recipient is a designated friend. This development addresses a long-standing user request and improves the gifting process for a global user base.
