A unique DIY project has emerged, transplanting the core components of a Steam Deck into a retro Game Boy-inspired casing. This creation, dubbed the 'SteamBoy', utilizes the motherboard, buttons, speakers, and battery from Valve's handheld, fitting them into a 3D-printed enclosure matching the original Game Boy's dimensions.

Currently, the 'SteamBoy' remains a work in progress, with its integrated screen non-functional due to firmware compatibility issues. However, the modder has successfully tested the device on an external display. Despite these limitations, the project has garnered significant enthusiasm from gamers, many of whom have voiced a strong interest in purchasing such a device if it were to become commercially available.
