Summary
- External SSD offers a one-button 'self-destruct' function.
- High voltage surge physically destroys NAND flash memory.
- Available in 256GB up to 2TB capacities.

TeamGroup has unveiled the Expert P35S Destroyed External SSD, an innovative device featuring a built-in 'self-destruct' button for immediate data erasure. This function employs a patented high-voltage electrical surge to physically destroy the NAND flash memory, rendering data irrecoverable. This unique capability is targeted at individuals and organizations handling highly sensitive information.
The drive includes a two-stage safety mechanism with a visual warning and damping structure to prevent accidental activation. It is slated for release in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB configurations, supporting USB 3.2 Gen 2 for transfer speeds up to 1,000 MB/s.
This technology echoes TeamGroup's P250Q Self-Destruct M.2 SSD, previously introduced for defense and industrial sectors. While launch dates and pricing are unconfirmed, the Expert P35S Destroyed External SSD offers an unprecedented level of data security for external storage solutions.
