Spotify is enhancing the running experience with its new Running Mode feature. This innovative tool allows users to personalize playlists based on their specific running needs, including the type of run, its duration, and the level of coaching they desire.
The feature provides 25 curated playlists across five categories: Just Run, Easy Run, Interval Runs, Pyramid Runs, and Long and Advanced Runs. Each song is tagged with its beats per minute (BPM), enabling runners to synchronize their pace with the music. Playlists are available in 20, 30, or 45-minute lengths and can be adjusted for longer durations up to 90 minutes.
Running Mode aims to reduce the time spent searching for music, allowing users more time to focus on their exercise. The playlists update daily, offering variety, and users have the option to download their favorite selections. This launch follows Spotify's recent partnership with fitness company Peloton, indicating a broader push into the fitness technology sector.
