The company's immediate objective is to achieve an annual production rate equivalent to 1 gigawatt of orbital AI compute capacity by the close of 2027. This ambitious goal necessitates the deployment of thousands of satellites working collectively in orbit.
Longer-term, SpaceX aspires to scale production to tens of gigawatts annually, leveraging experience gained from Starlink satellite manufacturing. This expansion aims to meet escalating global AI computational demands as an alternative to conventional ground-based data centers.
