Sony has expanded its party speaker lineup with the introduction of three new ULT Tower models: the ULT Tower Max, ULT Tower 7, and ULT Tower 5. These speakers are engineered to produce loud, bass-heavy sound with notable clarity.
The flagship ULT Tower Max, a substantial 121-pound unit, provides a powerful and immersive audio experience, featuring multiple woofers, tweeters, and midrange drivers within its redesigned cabinets to maximize air displacement.
Amateur and professional DJs can link these speakers using Party Chain mode or create stereo pairs. The new models also support karaoke and function as PA systems, offering XLR, RCA, and USB-C connectivity.
Sony has updated the industrial design with new lighting modes and an intuitive volume-responsive lighting trail. The speakers offer four distinct sound modes—ULT1, ULT2, Flat, and Live—accessible via the ULT button or the Sony Sound Connect app.
The ULT Tower 7 and ULT Tower 5 are IPX4 splash-proof and offer considerable battery life, with up to 30 hours for the Tower 7 and 20 hours for the Tower 5 at moderate volumes. The ULT Tower 7 is highlighted as a potential sweet spot for consumers seeking robust sound without an exorbitant price.
While the ULT Tower Max requires a constant power connection, the smaller ULT Tower models are untethered, offering portability. The ULT Tower 5 is presented as a manageable option for smaller gatherings or teams.
