Smart is reintroducing its iconic compact EV with the debut of the Smart #2 at the Paris Motor Show. This ultra-compact, two-seater vehicle is designed for urban mobility, making tight city navigation and parking simple. It offers a variety of two-tone color options reminiscent of the original Smart Fortwo.
The Smart #2 features a 60kW rear electric motor providing 130Nm of torque. Its floor-mounted battery delivers an estimated 180 miles (290km) per charge and supports fast charging, reaching 80% capacity from 10% in just 20 minutes.
Despite its retro appearance, the #2 is equipped with modern technology, including driver assistance systems and dual digital displays. Connectivity options via 4G, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth are standard. Trims range from the entry-level Pure to the Premium, with a limited Couture Edition available globally.
Preorders for the Smart #2 are set to open in Spring, with deliveries expected in Summer. While pricing is anticipated to be under $26,500 (£20,000), the vehicle is not expected to be released in the American market, following Smart's previous withdrawal.
