The SmallSat Alliance, representing numerous small satellite companies, is now concentrating on integrating proliferated low Earth orbit (LEO) constellations into a cohesive, unified system. This strategic pivot follows approximately a decade of dedicated advocacy that successfully positioned small satellites at the center of U.S. military space planning. The alliance's efforts were instrumental in encouraging the Space Development Agency's billions in spending and the Department of the Air Force's shift toward commercial constellation services.

With the initial battle for small satellite adoption largely won, the alliance's current objective is to optimize these networked constellations for warfighter advantage. This includes exploring how systems like MILNET and Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture can bolster national security through enhanced intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and communication missions. The group is also focusing on advancements in software, networking, and artificial intelligence to ensure American superiority in space.
