Slate EV Truck: Dirt Cheap Electric Ride!

The Slate electric truck has been confirmed as a drivable reality, with pricing, range, and pre-order details now available. Engineers recently offered a ride in a prototype, showcasing its performance and design. This inexpensive electric pickup aims to be highly accessible, with pricing starting below $26,500 after destination charges. SUV variants will also be available, with slightly higher starting prices.

The Slate truck is equipped with a single 63-kWh LFP battery, estimated to deliver approximately 205 miles of range. It supports fast charging, reaching 80% capacity in about 30 minutes. The truck's payload capacity is 1,550 pounds, and it can tow up to 2,000 pounds, making it a practical option for light-duty use. Pre-orders are now being accepted, with deliveries scheduled to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026.
