Shokz has unveiled its latest audio innovation, the OpenFit Air 2 earbuds, set to release on August 27 for $130. These earbuds are approximately 17 percent lighter than their predecessor, weighing a mere 7.2g each. The open-ear design prioritizes user comfort by eliminating ear canal pressure and heat buildup, while also allowing for greater awareness of one's environment.
Audio enhancements include the proprietary Bassphere driver and OpenBass 2.0 algorithm for richer bass and fuller sound. An angled speaker directs audio towards the ear for a more natural listening experience. Users can customize their sound with four preset EQ modes and two custom profiles via the accompanying app.
These earbuds offer eight hours of playback on a single charge, extending to a total of 36 hours with the included charging case. A 10-minute quick charge provides an additional three hours of listening time. The OpenFit Air 2 integrates Bluetooth 5.1 for seamless connectivity and supports multipoint connections.
Additionally, Shokz is releasing the OpenRun Air 2 earbuds on the same date and price point. These feature a wraparound design for enhanced stability during athletic activities and utilize bone conduction drivers. They provide ten hours of battery life per charge with a five-minute quick charge offering two hours of playback.
