Shokz OpenDots 2: Clip-On Buds Redefine Audio

Shokz has launched its second-generation clip-style wireless earbuds, the $199 OpenDots 2, aiming to improve upon previous models. These new earbuds feature enhanced bass powered by Bassphere 2.0 and two 11.8mm drivers, delivering a solid low-end performance. A key upgrade is the inclusion of Dolby Audio, which significantly widens the soundstage and increases immersion, offering clearer vocals and richer details.

The open-ear design prioritizes comfort, allowing users to wear them for extended periods while remaining aware of their surroundings. While generally comfortable, the fit may vary per individual. The OpenDots 2 also excel in call quality, featuring environmental noise cancellation that ensures clear voice transmission even in noisy environments.

Controls are managed through pinch sensors, designed to prevent accidental activation. The earbuds offer features like multi-device pairing and a "find my earbuds" function. Battery life is rated at 10 hours, with the charging case providing an additional 30 hours. The OpenDots 2 present a strong option in the competitive clip-style earbud market, balancing sound quality, comfort, and features.
