AI Agents Talk, Think, and Act Like Humans

AI startup Sesame, founded by former Oculus executives, has released a public preview of its advanced conversational AI agents through a new iOS app. These agents are designed to emulate human conversation by seamlessly integrating real-time information retrieval and parallel processing, allowing for natural dialogue flow. The app introduces four distinct AI personalities: Maya, Miles, Simone, and Charlie, each possessing a unique voice, memory, and point of view. Previously available in a research preview, these agents were accessed by over a million users. Sesame has incorporated user feedback to enhance features like search cards with visual results, note-taking capabilities, a texting mode, and an incognito mode for private interactions. The company plans to launch intelligent eyewear by 2027 and envisions its agents evolving beyond conversation to autonomously perform actions on behalf of users, a significant step toward more intuitive agentic tools. The iOS app is currently available in 39 countries, with a future Android preview planned.
