Schlage has introduced the Sense Pro, a $400 smart lock that pioneers a futuristic vision for home security. This innovative device features a blank touch panel design, eliminating the traditional keyhole in favor of phone-centric unlocking via NFC and Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology.
Upon approach, the Sense Pro's panel illuminates, revealing essential controls like a keypad. The integration of UWB enhances the accuracy of the hands-free unlocking, ensuring the door opens precisely when intended. Users can select from modes like Intuitive, Touch, or Delay, offering tailored convenience and security.
The lock boasts Matter compatibility, enabling integration with platforms like Alexa and Google Home, provided a compatible hub is present. Furthermore, it is set to achieve Aliro certification in 2026, a standard designed to enhance and secure smart lock communication, expanding support for digital wallets from Google and Samsung.
