SatLeo Labs, an IN-SPACe incubated startup, has successfully raised $2.2 million in a seed funding round led by Unicorn India Ventures. This latest funding brings the company's total raised capital to $5.5 million. The startup is focused on developing a multi-spectral satellite constellation designed to provide continuous, high-resolution earth observation data.
The fresh capital infusion is earmarked for the advancement of SatLeo Labs' flagship Low Earth Orbit (LEO) thermal satellite mission. It will also accelerate the development of its AI-led thermal intelligence platform, which integrates infrared and visible imaging capabilities. This technology is crucial for applications spanning climate monitoring, defense, agriculture, and disaster response.
Recently, SatLeo Labs achieved Technology Readiness Level-8 (TRL-8) with its experimental thermal payload, TAPAS-1, and is preparing for flight readiness. The company has also initiated commercial pilot projects, including urban heat and air pollution monitoring in cities like Ahmedabad and Tumkur. SatLeo Labs has reported a significant increase in its commercial pipeline, with letters of intent growing from approximately $15 million to over $42 million.
