Samsung's 2025 Flip 7 Trims the Fat, Gains Bigger Screens and Faster Performance

In 2025, Samsung will unveil its latest flagship folding phone, the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The device builds upon the success of its predecessors, offering several key upgrades.

The Flip 7 will feature a larger 6.9-inch inner display, up from the previous model's screen. Additionally, the cover screen on the outside has been expanded, now filling the top half of the device and providing more space for notifications and widgets. While the design is slightly slimmer than the Flip 6, the phone still offers a premium, book-style folding experience.

Under the hood, the Flip 7 is powered by Samsung's Exynos 2500 chip, a high-end processor that should deliver smooth performance for day-to-day tasks and gaming. However, the phone's camera system, though decent, may not quite match the quality of flagship non-folding smartphones.

Battery life is also a bit of a mixed bag, with the Flip 7 lasting around 36 hours on a single charge, roughly matching the smallest S25 model. Heavy 5G usage can further drain the battery, so most users will likely need to charge the device nightly.

The Flip 7 will launch with the latest version of Samsung's One UI software, which offers deep customization and solid performance. The phone also includes several features to take advantage of its folding form factor, such as the useful flex mode and the ability to use certain apps on the cover screen.
