Samsung TriFold Sequel in Development
27 Jul
Summary
- Samsung is reportedly developing a successor to the Galaxy Z TriFold.
- The original TriFold was a limited production device, with only 30,000 units made.
- A sequel might arrive by Samsung's July 2027 Unpacked event.

Samsung is reportedly developing a second-generation Galaxy Z TriFold, a device initially launched in early 2026 that offered a unique combination of smartphone, tablet, and portable laptop features.
The original TriFold, which had a steep price tag of $2,899, was produced in a limited run of only 30,000 units worldwide. This device was available in the US for a brief period of three months before being removed from sale.
A new report indicates that Samsung views the TriFold as a technology testbed and is considering a sequel. While plans are not final, increased production volume is being explored for TriFold 2.0. However, a lower price is unlikely due to rising component costs.
Sources also suggest Samsung may launch four Galaxy S27 models in early 2027, including a new Pro version, alongside the standard, Plus, and Ultra variants. This development comes as Samsung has recently unveiled its Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 series.
