Samsung S95H: Art Mode Woes, Color Quirks
16 Jun
Summary
- Samsung S95H OLED TV struggles with inaccurate HDR colors.
- Art display mode lacks ambient functionality and requires manual effort.
- LG G6 offers more accurate colors and better black levels in bright rooms.

Samsung's 2026 S95H OLED TV introduces a novel feature allowing it to display static artwork, a first for OLED technology. However, this capability is hindered by inaccurate High Dynamic Range (HDR) colors, with oranges tending towards yellow and certain test images proving problematic. Furthermore, the art display mode lacks an ambient function, requiring manual effort from the user.
In comparison, the LG G6, a rival from the same year, offers more accurate color reproduction. Its antireflective coating also excels at maintaining black levels in brightly lit rooms, a significant advantage over the S95H which can show blacks as slightly gray. While the S95H is lauded for its gaming performance, its color inaccuracies and less sophisticated art mode make it a less compelling choice for critical viewers.
The S95H also features a redesigned, minimalist remote with solar charging and houses connectivity within the TV itself, increasing its thickness to 1 inch. Despite these design changes and AI-enhanced features like an AI Soccer Mode, the primary drawbacks remain its color performance and the manual nature of its art display compared to competitors and dedicated art TVs like Samsung's own Frame Pro.
