Summary
- Galaxy Z Fold 8 expected July 2026 with a crease-free display.
- New foldable may feature a larger 5,000mAh battery and lighter design.
- An experimental 'Wide' variant could be part of the new foldable lineup.

Samsung is reportedly finalizing its next-generation foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 8, with a projected launch in July 2026. This highly anticipated device aims to eliminate the display crease using new laser-drilled metal plate technology, promising a nearly flat, 8.2-inch screen protected by Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2. Early reports suggest Samsung will maintain the premium price point, with the Fold 8 expected to cost around USD 1,999.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is also slated for significant internal upgrades. Leaks indicate a substantial boost to a 5,000mAh battery, an increase from the Fold 7's 4,400mAh cell. Despite this, the device is rumored to be lighter and thinner than its predecessor, weighing approximately 200 grams. Powering the device will likely be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 chipset, supporting One UI 9 (Android 17).
