5 Nov
Summary
- Galaxy A38 may feature a 6,000mAh battery, a first for Samsung's A-Series.
- This battery capacity surpasses the 5,000mAh found in Galaxy S Ultra phones.
- Competitors already offer batteries exceeding 6,000mAh, pushing Samsung.
Samsung's upcoming Galaxy A38 is anticipated to feature a substantial 6,000mAh battery, a record for the popular A-Series. This capacity exceeds the 5,000mAh found in Samsung's high-end Galaxy S Ultra line, which has long been praised for its battery endurance. The A38, expected early next year, could offer significantly more battery life than its flagship counterparts at a fraction of the cost.
The smartphone market is currently experiencing a battery capacity race. Competitors have introduced phones with batteries well over 6,000mAh, with some reaching up to 10,001mAh. This trend is partly driven by advancements like silicon-carbon technology, though the A38 is not expected to use this specific innovation. Samsung's decision to increase the A38's battery size may reflect pressure to keep pace with rivals.
