Samsung has unveiled its latest budget smartphone, the Galaxy A27, set to be released on July 14 in the U.S. for $349. This price represents a $50 increase compared to the previous year's model, the Galaxy A26.
The Galaxy A27 retains the 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an Infinity-O design. Internally, it matches the A26 with 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 5,000mAh battery.
The most notable enhancement is the inclusion of a Snapdragon Gen 3 chipset, a substantial upgrade from the A26's Exynos 1380, promising snappier performance. It also offers a streamlined version of Samsung's AI suite, including Circle to Search and Object Eraser.
However, the camera system sees a downgrade, with lower megapixel counts for the front, macro, and ultra-wide sensors compared to the A26. The device also has a slightly lower IP64 rating. These reductions, coupled with increasing consumer tech prices, position the A27 against strong competition in the budget market.
