Samsung has announced that its SmartThings platform now fully supports Ikea's Matter-over-Thread devices, addressing persistent problems reported since their launch. This development is expected to ensure that Ikea's sensors, complex remotes, bulbs, and smart plugs function without issues and integrate smoothly into Samsung's advanced home automation routines.

According to Samsung, enhanced integrations have been built for a range of Ikea products, including its scroll wheel remote and various sensors. Both companies reportedly conducted multiple validation rounds to improve connectivity stability and created a dedicated user experience within the SmartThings app for full compatibility. This effort aims to eliminate issues such as devices disappearing from the network or refusing to be added.

While the Matter standard is intended to simplify smart home ecosystems, the significant effort required for this integration highlights ongoing challenges in achieving seamless cross-platform compatibility.
