Sagemcom has announced the immediate availability of its new generation Video Soundbox (VSB), a device combining a 4K set-top box with integrated speakers. Building on its prior success, this VSB elevates home entertainment with enhanced audio designed by Bang & Olufsen and Dolby Atmos, delivering multidimensional sound, alongside Dolby Vision for true colors and sharp visuals.
The VSB now offers an even more immersive experience, with optional Wireless Surround Speakers extending sound across the room for a cinema-like atmosphere. Furthermore, the introduction of karaoke functionality, via an optional microphone kit, transforms the living room into an interactive stage, allowing users to actively participate in their entertainment.
This latest generation aims to empower telco and Pay-TV operators to develop comprehensive entertainment experiences, fostering new opportunities for premium services and customer satisfaction. DNA, a Telenor Group company in Finland, is the first operator globally to commercially deploy this advanced entertainment system as part of its DNA Viihde service.
The Finnish karaoke streaming service Singa, which boasts over 150,000 licensed songs, powers the karaoke feature. Singa's app is now available on the VSB, offering users direct access to a vast karaoke library. This collaboration, with DNA and Singa, marks a significant step in redefining the role of the set-top box from a mere TV gateway to a central platform for diverse entertainment experiences.
