Russian engineers have unveiled the Viverna-Kogot, a novel high-speed interceptor drone. Developed by the Valkyrie Experimental Design bureau, this drone boasts an impressive speed capability of up to 300 km/h, positioning it as a significant advancement in aerial defense.
The Viverna-Kogot is engineered for effectiveness against various aerial threats, including kamikaze and fixed-wing drones. It is designed to operate at altitudes of up to 3 kilometers, providing a considerable engagement envelope. The drone incorporates sophisticated machine vision technology and a target acquisition system powered by a neural network, enabling precise identification and tracking of targets.
Available in two distinct versions – kinetic and strike – the interceptor can be equipped with a 0.5 kg high-explosive fragmentation warhead for its strike variant. The Viverna-Kogot is currently undergoing final development stages, with comprehensive testing set to follow. Upon successful completion of trials, the design bureau plans to initiate mass production of this advanced drone.
