Russia's UTS-800 Trainer: New 'Brain' Undergoing Tests

Interdepartmental tests are currently underway in Russia for the PNK-800 flight and navigation system, a critical component for the upcoming UTS-800 turboprop training aircraft. Developed by the Urals Civil Aviation Plant, the PNK-800 is described as the 'brain' of the UTS-800, integrating all aircraft systems and presenting information conveniently for pilots. The system features a head-up display, multifunctional indicators that also serve as onboard computers, and custom software.

The UTS-800 itself is designed as Russia's first turboprop-powered aircraft for initial pilot training and professional selection. It boasts high maneuverability and low operating costs, equipped with a turboprop engine, ejection seats, and essential onboard systems like oxygen and air conditioning. The Urals Civil Aviation Plant emphasizes that a key competitive advantage of the PNK-800 is its modular design, allowing for future upgrades and customization tailored to individual client requirements.
