Ruko Drone Falls Short: DJI Still Rules
3 Jul
Summary
- Drone lacks obstacle avoidance and has basic automated flight modes.
- Camera quality is inconsistent, with overexposed stills.
- Priced similarly to DJI's superior offering, making it poor value.

The Ruko U11Mini 4K drone, a new contender in the consumer market, has been reviewed and found to be significantly lacking compared to its DJI counterparts. Despite a folding design under 249g and a 1/2-inch CMOS sensor capable of 4K video, its performance in the air is inconsistent. It struggles in windy conditions and experienced concerning mid-flight voltage drops leading to emergency landings. Automated flight modes are basic, and the drone offers no obstacle avoidance. Image quality is a mixed bag; while 4K video is watchable in good light, still photos are frequently overexposed and oversharpened. The touchscreen controller, while a neat idea, suffers from connectivity issues and imprecise joysticks. Transferring footage from internal storage is cumbersome due to the lack of a USB port. Priced around £300 to £499, it competes directly with DJI's superior offerings like the DJI Lito 1, making the Ruko U11Mini 4K a questionable value.
