Ruark's Talisman-R: Compact speaker, huge sound

The Ruark Audio Talisman-R speakers blend a compact, unassuming design with a distinctive sloping 'double baffle,' harkening back to the original 1990s model. This design not only offers visual interest but also provides acoustic benefits, minimizing resonance and vibrational energy transfer.

These passive loudspeakers feature a 27mm silk dome tweeter and a 170mm natural fiber mid/bass driver, complemented by a front-facing bass reflex port. Launched in June 2026, they are priced at $2,399 in the US, £1,499 in the UK, and AU$3,299 in Australia.

Sonically, the Talisman-R impresses with its organization, detail retrieval, and confident rhythmic expression. While not offering the sheer scale of larger competitors, their tightly unified soundstage and articulate midrange provide an engaging and entertaining listening experience.

With a frequency response of 35Hz - 20kHz and commendable build quality, the Talisman-R offers excellent value for those prioritizing discretion and sound quality in smaller to medium-sized spaces.
