Party Voice feature is now Roblox's primary communication tool.

Roblox has announced the discontinuation of its video calling service, Roblox Connect, which was launched in 2023. This feature allowed users to engage in video calls using their Roblox avatars, with avatar movements mirroring their real-life actions within shared virtual spaces. The decision to shut down Roblox Connect stems from user behavior patterns observed by the company.

According to a Roblox spokesperson, users aged 13 and above have increasingly gravitated towards the platform's more recent Party Voice feature. This functionality provides private voice calls with "Trusted Friends" and is considered by Roblox to be more capable and better suited to current user engagement. Consequently, both the Roblox Connect feature itself and its developer-facing APIs are being retired.
