Rivian has introduced a new Apple Watch application, offering owners enhanced control over their electric vehicles. The app allows users to remotely lock and unlock doors, activate the alarm, and even vent windows directly from their wrist.
Owners of R1S and R1T Gen 2 models can further utilize a passive car key feature for automatic unlocking upon approach after initial setup. The digital crown on the Apple Watch provides an intuitive interface for adjusting cabin temperature and setting a desired state of charge for the vehicle's battery.
Additionally, users can customize the app with four quick controls and add a battery status indicator to their watch face. Rivian has stated plans to roll out further features to the Apple Watch app in the future. This development follows Rivian's December enablement of digital car key support across Apple, Google Pixel, and Samsung devices.
