Scooters have historically been integral to India's transportation landscape, cherished for their practicality and user-friendliness. A new entrant, RCJ, has introduced an electric scooter that revives this classic appeal with a distinct retro design. This vintage-inspired electric scooter is available to consumers at a price point of approximately Rs 70,000.
The RCJ electric scooter features a design reminiscent of past iconic models, offering a blend of nostalgia and modern electric technology. However, it maintains a focus on simplicity, equipped with a basic analogue instrument cluster rather than advanced digital displays or connectivity features, aligning with its old-school aesthetic.
Designed for urban commuting, the scooter achieves a top speed of 40 km/h and offers a real-world range of 60-80 km on a single charge. It is powered by a 250W hub-mounted BLDC motor and a lithium-ion battery. Charging is facilitated by a portable charger, taking approximately three hours. The vehicle utilizes hydraulic dampers for suspension and drum brakes for stopping power, with a gradeability of 12 degrees making it suitable for everyday city travel.
