Summary
- The Retro Ambient Audio System combines record, CD, and cassette players.
- Components magnetically attach to a wall mount and have built-in batteries.
- A separate speaker must be purchased, as it is not included.
The Trettire Retro Ambient Audio System, which successfully raised over $2 million on Kickstarter, has now begun shipping. This innovative audio solution consolidates a turntable, CD player, and cassette player into a single, stylish unit designed for wall mounting.
Each component of the system is equipped with internal batteries, enabling users to detach them from the magnetic wall rack for portable listening sessions. For instance, the turntable can be taken to a kitchen table for vinyl playback, and its battery recharges when placed back on the mount. The turntable, model TTT-LP3, supports 33.3 and 45rpm speeds and features an Audio-Technica AT-3600LA cartridge, along with a customizable RGB lighting panel.
The CD player, TTT-DP3, handles standard CD formats and includes a sliding mechanism for disc access. The cassette player, TTT-CP3, boasts illuminated buttons and a modern aesthetic. While the system offers a unique aesthetic and flexibility, it notably excludes a speaker, which must be purchased separately. This makes the system potentially appealing for those with smaller living spaces or a penchant for retro design, though audiophiles might find its component quality secondary to its novelty.
