Bots Hire Humans: New Marketplace for AI Labor
18 Feb
Summary
- A new platform called RentAHuman connects AI agents to humans.
- Over 500,000 people are currently offering labor to AI bots.
- Tasks range from counting pigeons to delivering gummies for AI.

The employment landscape has dramatically shifted with the launch of RentAHuman on February 1, 2026. This innovative online marketplace facilitates connections between AI agents and human workers, allowing bots to hire people for tasks in the physical world. Currently, over 518,000 humans are registered, offering services for a wide array of jobs, from counting pigeons for $30/hour to delivering CBD gummies for $75/hour.
The platform enables AI agents, such as Clawdbot or Claude, to interact with its Model Context Protocol server. This allows them to search, book, and pay human workers for tasks that AI cannot perform itself. Inspired by the scarcity of physical AI capabilities and the potential for AI-driven job creation, RentAHuman aims to automate the hiring process, much like a bot-driven Fiverr.
RentAHuman was built in just one day using an AI agent orchestration system called Insomnia. The platform's co-founder, Patricia Tani, previously sunsetted a startup called Lemon AI and declined an offer from Vercel to pursue RentAHuman. The inspiration for the platform combines Alexander Liteplo's deep interest in AI with a concept observed in Japan, where individuals can rent companions.
Despite an initial launch buzz overshadowed by crypto scammer activity, RentAHuman gained attention when an OnlyFans model and an AI CEO signed up to be hired. This contrast was highlighted in a subsequent tweet, drawing further interest to the unique service offered by the platform.
