JLR has introduced the all-electric Range Rover Sport, a significant addition to its EV lineup, positioned below the recently launched Range Rover Electric. This new model aims to capture a substantial market share, potentially rivaling the sales figures of its predecessor. It shares the same advanced powertrain as the flagship, delivering 550PS and 850Nm of torque, offering a faster torque response than the larger model.
The electric Range Rover Sport is engineered for dynamic performance and off-road capability. It features a stiff body, low center of gravity, all-wheel steering, and electronic Active Roll Control for superior handling. With a 118.5-kilowatt-hour battery, it achieves up to 374 miles of range under WLTP testing, estimated at 320 miles by EPA standards. Its 800-volt architecture and split-charging technology allow for rapid charging, adding 136 miles in just 10 minutes or reaching 80% charge in 22 minutes.
This new electric SUV competes with notable rivals like the Porsche Cayenne Electric, BMW iX xDrive60, and Lotus Eletre. While priced from £109,810, it offers a compelling package for consumers seeking a blend of luxury, performance, and electric power. JLR also continues to offer plug-in hybrid, gasoline, and diesel variants of the Sport.
