Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated on Friday that the government is open to implementing practical solutions generated during the Raipur Traffic Hackathon-2026. The initiative aimed to address pressing congestion, parking, and road safety challenges at major city intersections.
The hackathon, which took place from August 17 to September 27, rigorously examined traffic dynamics at critical locations including Tatibandh Chowk and Telibandha Marine Drive. Participants developed proposals focusing on efficient parking management, enhanced pedestrian safety, clearer lane markings, and methods for reducing traffic congestion.
Innovative ideas presented included the application of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things for traffic management, such as using camera surveillance to identify violations and establishing priority routes for emergency vehicles. The event underscored the importance of technology, innovation, and public involvement in creating safer and more efficient urban transportation systems. NIT Raipur provided essential technical support for the hackathon.
