Pixel Phones Gain Powerful Call Recording Feature
15 Nov, 2025
Summary
- Google rolls out call recording to older Pixel phones
- Feature also coming to some non-Pixel phones with Google Phone app
- Recordings can be kept indefinitely or deleted after 7, 14, or 30 days
As of November 15th, 2025, Google is rolling out a powerful call recording feature to a wider range of Pixel smartphones. The feature, previously exclusive to newer Pixel models, is now coming to Pixel 6 devices and up, as well as some non-Pixel phones that use the Google Phone app.
With the latest updates, Pixel users running Android 14 or later can access the Call Recording settings by navigating to Phone > Settings > Call Recording. This allows them to set up automatic call recording or selectively record conversations from specific numbers. When a call is being recorded, the other party will hear a message informing them of the recording.
Recorded calls can be kept indefinitely or users can choose to delete them after 7, 14, or 30 days, depending on their preferences. This feature is particularly useful for those who need to document conversations for school, legal, or other purposes.
