Peugeot is preparing drivers for the future with its revolutionary Hypersquare controller, a simulator-style steering system designed to resonate with the gaming generation. This innovative technology utilizes rapid-reacting steer-by-wire, eliminating the mechanical link to the wheels and offering a variable steering ratio as low as 5-to-1 for enhanced responsiveness.

The Hypersquare promises a more intuitive driving experience, with faster steering inputs and a reduced turning angle for parking. While initial tests revealed sensitivity issues at moderate speeds, engineers have two years to refine the system. The controller also offers haptic feedback, filtering out minor road vibrations while retaining tire grip sensations.

This futuristic controller is set to debut in the 208 supermini in 2027, with plans for it to be integrated into all new Peugeot models thereafter. Peugeot aims for Hypersquare to become a signature feature, akin to Audi's quattro, expressing the brand's commitment to innovation and technology.
