One UI 9 Lands on Galaxy S26: My FanCam Arrives!

Samsung has officially released One UI 9 for its Galaxy S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra devices. The rollout, which experienced some initial delays and confusion, is now confirmed for T-Mobile, Metro by T-Mobile, US Cellular, and unlocked models.

A standout feature arriving with One UI 9 is My FanCam, an AI-powered video tracking tool. This technology, first seen on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series, allows for automatic subject focus in videos.

The update significantly enhances the user interface with a more customizable Quick Panel, allowing users to rearrange controls and separate sound modes from volume sliders. Call screens will now display more relevant information, and the Now Nudge feature offers improved suggestions across the device.

Security and privacy are strengthened with AI-powered alerts that monitor app permissions and notify users of potential data misuse. A visible blue indicator will now appear when an app accesses location data, increasing transparency.

Further enhancements include upgrades to Bixby, Samsung Health, and the Lock Screen Clock. Samsung Health boasts a redesigned interface for easier data visualization, customizable home screens, and advanced trend analysis for sleep and activity tracking.

Bixby receives new gesture activation and improved conversation management. Accessibility features have also been expanded, offering text spotlighting, enhanced keyboard shortcuts, and easier access to settings like 'Select to speak'.
